Girls on the Run

Get ready 3rd-5th grade girls and Volunteer Coaches and Practice Partners! Sand Point Elementary, along with Head Coach Ms. Hoyos is starting a Girls on the Run team for Spring 2018. The program will start in March and run twice a week, after school, at Sand Point Elementary.

What is Girls on the Run? Girls on the Run is a physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-5th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event in June. Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 positive youth development program for pre-teen girls.

When to Register: Registration starts next Monday, December 4th and will be online. More information will be sent home and available at SPE.

Details: The team is limited to 8-15 girls. The cost for the 12-week program is $200 and scholarships and sliding scale fees are available.

Adult Volunteer Opportunities: And for adults who can’t wait to be involved, we’d love to have 1-2 more coaches. Coach applications are now open! See http://girlsrun.org/get-involved/coach/ for more details.
