Annual Spring Fundraiser

Thank you, Sand Point Community, for your support of this year’s Annual Fundraiser. We hope those who attended had a fantastic time. Can you believe we raised more than $118,000 before corporate matching?! Woo hoo! (If your company does match, please submit it and then let us know so that we can look out for it. Don’t forget to take advantage of this sweet perk.). This far surpassed our goal and we could not have done it without you!

Your generosity and support will enable the PTA to support enrichment programs not funded or only partially funded by the Seattle School District such as art, field trips, library acquisitions, classroom grants, capital improvements, and more as needed throughout the school year.

It was so great to see everyone and to bring nearly 150 big Squirrels together to eat, drink, chat, bid, and karaoke all to benefit our little neighborhood school. If you’ve ever been to another school fundraiser, you realize just how incredibly awesome our community is. It’s not just the fact that we have the Sand Point SuperFonics, our 13-member staff band, but the community all of us (staff, families, kids) have built in just 8 years. Pretty incredible.

  • Bryan Manzo for leading and forming the Sand Point SuperFonics and for having such great footage for the video
  • Christopher Gasper who created yet another wonderful video
  • Nelson Jay, our super auctioneer / BINGO caller, SPE neighbor, and our hook up for the tickets
  • Candice Becker for all of the beautiful graphic design work
  • Josh Cooper for being the alcohol lead
  • Chris Shannon for creating the PowerPoint
  • Scott France and Macrina Bakery for the rolls and bags and for hooking us up with Georgetown Brewery for the donated kegs and bags
  • All of the SPE classroom teachers who allowed parent volunteers to come into their classrooms to create such amazing art projects to auction off, as well create teacher experiences for the silent auction
  • The Classroom Project volunteers (Al Bahl, Brooke Lawson, Crystal Wong, Judy Findley, Karen and Steven Stukovsky, Kim Wolf, Kris Van Houten, Renee France, Sam Scharenberg, and Wanda Lew) who created and managed all of those beautiful classroom projects with other parents.
  • The Sand Point SuperFonics (Alex O’Brien, Ben Conway, Bryan Manzo, David Friedlander, Jack Knight, Kristen Roberts, Laura Miller, Matt Kanaly, Nathaniel Oxford, Scott Jenkins, Stephanie Storhaug,Victoria Withrow, and Zoe Manzo) for all of their hard work rehearsing and being so awesome.
  • Everyone who personally donated and/or procured items
  • Angie Reed for decorations assistance and Stacy Hinz for 90s candy and Pop Rocks assistance.
  • All of the families who have supported the school for 6+ years (and/or with a graduating 5th grader) with their time, talent and treasure.
  • The entire auction committee who believed in this event and made it even bigger and better than we could have imagined

We can’t thank you enough for all of your support in making this event a huge success! Ideas are already flying around for 2019! As soon as we have the date, we’ll send it out!
