Library

I want to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year.

My name is Sean Harvey and I am your school librarian.  I am very excited to be starting my third year at Sand Point.

Your student’s classroom will visit the library once a week at which time they will have the opportunity to check out books.  My overall goals are to get your student excited about books and to get them to think critically about ideas and information.

I will be at Sand Point on Monday and Tuesday all day and Wednesday from 10:10am till dismissal time.  The rest of the week I will be at Sacajawea Elementary.

I truly enjoy the work I do.  One of the most satisfying aspects of teaching for me are the relationships I build -with students, staff, parents and other community members.  I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

This year our Family Library Book Check Out will be every Tuesday that school is open from 2:15 to 2:45.   At that time parents may come to the school library and check out books.

I frequently tell students as I am starting a lesson that I have been on a treasure hunt for some good books and have found some gems that I want to share with them.  It is my hope that your child will find many gems in the school library during her/his Sand Point years.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.  I can be reached at (206) 252-4662 or jrharvey@seattleschools.org.

Warmly,

Sean Harvey
Sand Point Librarian
